The following is a request from a NYL agent who doesn’t want to receive my weekly e-newsletters. Because NYL forbids her from selling FIAs, she doesn’t want to learn about their value and why her clients should use them. It’s really disgusting to me and unfortunate for the public at large who don’t know any better.

Genworth will discontinue new sales of Retail and Group Variable Annuities. In addition, we are suspending sales of one type of linked benefit product offering-which combines annuities and long term care-until that market develops further.

I’ve been asked by several people to start a blog and to start using my twitter account (my twitter handle is roccycwpp).

I send weekly newsletters, but there are many items of interest I don’t get out to people because it is not worth using an entire newsletter to do so.

So, I will start using my blog and twitter account to send more periodic information to people who are interested. What information?

I envision sending out links to interesting articles on the web I find or ones that are forwarded to me by other advisors.

Additionally, I imagine the blog will be a place where people can ask questions and have a running dialogue about interesting issues.
